Your female talent struggles to break into leadership

The broken rung. That’s what the LeanIn.org and McKinsey’s Women in the Workplace report calls the biggest obstacle keeping women from advancing in their careers. It’s this first step up from entry-level position to manager. That initial missed promotion ends up holding women back for the rest of their careers. The problem is that women sometimes find it hard to communicate their competence to others and promote their achievements.

How often do you hear from women on your team that they…

  • are told that they aren’t “leadership material” despite an excellent track record

  • feel forced to “act like a man” to be taken seriously and progress in their careers

  • struggle to be heard in male-dominated meetings

  • have other people explain to them, uninvited, about a topic they are more qualified to talk on?

  • get interrupted and talked over in meetings

Based on the latest research into human behaviour, I have developed the Leadership Presence blueprint  that will show your female team members how to fix that broken rung: display leadership qualities, make an impact at work, and get into more senior roles.

Developing leadership

presence is easier

than you think

My Leadership Presence Blueprint will allow your female talent to:

  1. Project confidence that matches their competence in a way that feels authentic;

  2. Master their voice and body language to instil trust and influence others;

  3. Become aware of nonverbal signals of low confidence they might unconsciously send;

  4. Become the leader that commands respect and instils trust

The Leadership Presence Blueprint includes specific techniques that women on your teams can apply immediately to be seen and heard as well as respected and trusted.

What my clients are saying

“Excellent event at Barclays headquarters in London. There were 50 people in attendance and the feedback was stellar on the workshop Gosia led for the first time at Barclays. The audience took away a new found awareness on the impact of body language not just during public speaking but in every conversation. Going forward each person is able to be a more effective and confident communicator thanks to Gosia. She definitely Walks The Talk!”

— Janell D., Barclays

“Gosia came and led a workshop focusing on body language and speaking on the spot. She worked closely with myself in the months prior to ensure that the content was fit for purpose and would answer our needs. In the end, the workshop was incredibly useful. We had a big conference to prepare for and afterwards, the feedback was that the speakers felt a lot more prepared and had learned useful tips. In fact, 100% of attendees said they would recommend the session to their teammates. My favourite comment after the session was 'being good at presenting can be learned!”

— Rafi Z., Tableau

“We recently held an internal Public Speaking event for anyone who wanted to feel more comfortable about speaking in public, either addressing an audience or speaking up at a meeting. Gosia listened to our needs and at the event delivered an enthusiastic, inspiring and confidence building session. It was very interactive but no one was left feeling awkward and the activities allowed us to explore some of the tips she gave us. We started the session feeling a bit anxious and quite self conscious but four hours later felt positive and ready to take on almost anything! A thoroughly enjoyable event led by a trainer who encouraged and supported us all the way”

My Blueprint takes guesswork out of “leadership presence”

Once your team members go through my process they will know how to:

  • Present themselves with authority in high stakes situations

  • Master vocal techniques to get people to listen to them

  • Take control of their body language to manage the impression they make on others

  • Design and deliver persuasive presentations that make people listen, engage, and take action

  • Speak on the spot in a clear, concise, and convincing way in meetings, informal conversations and Q&A sessions

Here are the steps:

  1. Become aware of how others see you.

  2. Learn a more confident way to communicate through words, body language and vocal tonality.

  3. Let go of habits and behaviours that inhibit your leadership presence.

  4. Practice, in real life, the tips and techniques you have learnt in the sessions.

  5. Get feedback from your friends and peers to improve. Rinse and repeat.

Leadership presence isn’t automatically assigned to you because of your title or expertise. It’s how people see you. And you can manage their perceptions by learning how to take control of what you say (verbal message), how you say (voice) it and how you carry yourself (body language):

Here’s how it works

To get into more senior roles, women on your teams need to be respected and trusted. The problem is that they are often seen as followers, not leaders, which slows down their career progression in your organisation.

That’s why I developed the Leadership Presence Blueprint. Here’s how it works:

  1. You discover ways of promoting yourself that feel authentic.

  2. You learn how to use body language to project more confidence and authority.

  3. You discover how to influence others with your voice.

  4. You learn how to speak in high-pressure situations.

  5. You find out how to be confident and engaging in meetings and presentations.

“Just days after Gosia’s Get Heard in Meetings seminar, I have already noticed a difference in my quality of work! I am speaking more slowly, enunciating, and utilizing my chest voice more. Clients are understanding me more clearly and reacting very positively to the information I share with them. IU even closed the deal on my first sale just the other day!”
